About the Study:

This study is testing the safety and tolerability of an investigational medication for the treatment of moderate to severe pain associated with cancer.

Qualified individuals will receive a single dose of the study medication administered by injection and be required to attend 8 study visits. The total length of participation for each person is approximately 3 months including follow-up visits.

About Cancer Pain:

To patients with cancer, pain is both feared and burdensome, often holding you back from living a normal life. Most cancer pain is caused by tumors pressing on bones, nerves and other organs in the body. However, sometimes cancer pain is due to the cancer treatment itself, such as chemotherapy. Types of cancer pain include nerve pain, bone pain, soft tissue pain, phantom pain and referred pain.

WHAT IS A CLINICAL RESEARCH STUDY?

A clinical research study tests the safety and effectiveness of a new medicine or treatment in a population of volunteers. Every medical breakthrough goes through the clinical trial process, therefore, participants like you play a very important role in advancing medicine for present and future generations.
